From the Port of Livorno directly to Cinque Terre in Liguria
Our tour leader will wait for you at the shuttle bus station in Livorno, in Piazza del Municipio ready to start your Day Trip. Tour will start driving through Tuscany in direction of the villages in the National Park of Cinque Terre, Manarola or Riomaggiore (weather permitting), where we will pass some relaxing time.
During the day Tour Leader will assist you and will lead you in each village, and will give you every information and suggestions in the ancient life of Ligurian Riviera. You will be followed site by site in this day tour.
The fully Day tour is scheduled in order to move by ferry-boat village by village, otherwise, if weather doesn’t permit to use the ferry-boat (harbour will be closed) we will take the train.
The villages are:
Riomaggiore
The most southern village of the Cinque Terre. Above all the name derives from the stream that flows through the valley, the Rivus Maior (biggest river) which today flows under the main street, but up the early 20th century it was in view. The houses were connected by bridge and for this reason the town was known as “Little Venice”.
Manarola:
The town with a layout similar to that of Riomaggiore, was built on the banks of a stream, the Rio Groppo, which still flows under the main streets. Explore the narrow alleys and pretty pastel squares that epitomize the beauty of the area
Vernazza:
Vernazza is the one of the oldest town of Cinque Terre. The first mention of it dates back to 1080. Walking through the streets you can still see the remains of this memorable medieval past. In Piazzetta dei Caduti center, there is a large millstone recalling the agricultural vocation of the town, which is one of the most famed producers of olive oil and wine. One of those is Vernaccia, which has been appreciated since the Middle Ages.
Monterosso Village
It’s the oldest village in Cinque Terre. It’s also the largest and most capacious for visiting and accommodations. The town is divided in two nuclei. The separation is visible whether you arrive by sea, train or private transportation.
Firstly, the new part is “Fegina”, where there are the beaches and many hotels. From this side of the town an enjoyable promenade leads to the area of the Gigante (The giant).
Secondly, the old town of Monterosso can be reached by turning left and going through the tunnel. In the original nucleo of the city you can see the remains of the ancient castrum and the citadel. You can reach the top of the hill by taking the stairway leading to the convent of the Capuchin friars and the Church of San Francesco.
After that, remember that Monterosso has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Forbes 2006).

Tour Reviews
We really enjoyed our day visiting Cinque Terre. The tour was well organized, very professional, and the ride was comfortable. Everything was so beautiful! It was mid-November during our visit so some shops were closed for the season, but there were still plenty of things open and the crowds were smaller.
Join a small group for this amazing tour on October 4th- 2022 -we (2) are traveling on the EPIC-& just booked this& there’s availability –
Marta was our favorite guide while we were visiting Italy. She would explain the area and point out things of interest then let us have free time to explore on our own. She was so wonderful to each of our fellow passengers. She made time to get to know us and when asked about a particular wine, she actually contacted a friend of hers to get me the information! Our group was small…7 in all which made it so much more enjoyable. The villages are lovely and are best seen from a boat which we were fortunate that the weather was great that day. Thanks Marta!!
My husband and I booked a private Cinque Terre tour for one of our days in Tuscany. Our driver and tour guide were incredibly sweet and accommodating. We were picked up at our villa and driven to Riomaggiore where our tour began. Our guide expertly managed us through the other tourists and lines on & off the ferry. She was perfectly balanced between showing us around and also letting us have free time alone to explore. We would have been lost without her and due to her expertise we were able to visit the cities with enough time to soak them each in. Thank you Bella Italia!
What a fantastic day. I would really recommend this to anyone! Our guide Marta was lovely and looked after us all really well. There were 6 of us in our group and it meant a much more relaxed day. Marta was very knowledgable and so helpful. My son and I now have some amazing memories.
