Set out from the port of La Spezia on a memorable journey along the beautiful Ligurian coast to discover two of Italy’s most elegant seaside gems – Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. Designed for cruise passengers, this tour ensures a relaxed experience that fits comfortably within your time ashore.

Scenic Transfer Along the RivieraYour adventure begins with a comfortable drive from La Spezia, offering stunning views of the coastline, dotted with colorful villages, olive groves, and dramatic cliffs.

Portofino, the jewel of the Liguria

Your first stop is Portofino, famous for its beauty, luxury yachts, colorful waterfront houses, and chic boutiques.

The Ligurian Riviera is a charming destination, hidden by mountains and facing the turquoise sea, is located on the Gulf of Tigullio, north of the Cinque Terre.

Portofino has long been a favorite escape for artists, celebrities, and travelers seeking tranquility in an idyllic setting.

Portofino is one of those destinations that you should visit at least once in a lifetime. It blends everything Italian in such a beautiful manner. From iconic Italian luxury to ancient charm, clear waters and nature.

During your visit, you may:

  • Walk up on top of the hill to Castello Brown for the best view of Portofino
  • Visit the picturesque Church of San Giorgio, it’s only 5 minutes away from the main square
  • Relax with a coffee on the famous Piazzetta. The main square of Portofino is the starting point for all the great things you can do here.
  • Visit designer shops and local artisan stores
  • Capture unforgettable photos

The driver can drive you to the next stop by minivan or you can choose the other two options.

Option 1: By Ferry-Boat Ride from Portofino to Santa Margherita Ligure (weather depending)

From Portofino, a short and scenic ferry-boat ride carries you to the village of Santa Margherita Ligure, offering postcard-perfect views of the harbor as you approach.

Option 2: Walk independently from Portofino to Santa Marghrita Ligure
The 5 km walk from Santa Margherita to Portofino is a worthwhile venture and takes around an hour. The footpath is essentially a sidewalk on the water side of the very narrow winding road. Each turn reveals a new scenery, whether villas, small beach clubs, restaurant or open water.

Santa Margherita Ligure

Your next stop is the charming town of Santa Margherita Ligure, known for its palm-lined promenade, pastel-colored buildings, and elegant cafés.
The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed—ideal for soaking in the authentic Italian Riviera lifestyle.

Here, you’ll enjoy free time to:

  • Stroll along the waterfront and marina
  • Visit the park of Villa Durazzo, that offers beautiful panoramic views
  • Shop at local boutiques
  • Taste a Ligurian lunch

Santa Margherita Ligure is known for its lush gardens and peaceful beaches, with its turquoise waters. The town also offers a mix of historic architecture, including the beautiful Church of Santa Margherita, and modern luxury with stylish hotels and boutique shopping. With its refined yet relaxed ambiance, Santa Margherita Ligure exudes the timeless charm of the Italian Riviera, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, culture, and coastal living.

We suggest having lunch here, enjoying the delicious Italian dishes. Of course that the fish and seafood courses are the most famous, but there are options for everyone.

Your driver can suggest the best restaurants in the area.

What can you visit at Santa Margherita Ligure

Villa Durazzo is probably one of the beautiful and romantic places that the village can offer. The garden is a real green paradise.

Optional stop: Brugnato Outlet

The tour can be personalized and if you wish, you can choose to spend less time visiting the villages or visit just one of them in order to stop at the Brugnato Outlet for a shopping session.

Here you can find around 80 different stores with very good prices.
