Off the beaten Paths of Tuscany: Lari (Casciana Terme Lari)
Lari, a quaint little Tuscan town nestled in the Pisan Hills. We were there today on a private tour with a lovely group of Australian ladies who are on holidays in Lucca
What You Can See in Lari Village
Lari is an etruscan town situated along the way from Pisa to Volterra and it was, in the past, the capital of Pisan Hills.
In Lari you can visit a fortress of the renaissance period, well preserved and opened to visitors. This fortress is also famous for the presence of a phantom, Rosso della Paola.
Nowadays, the fortress is also a museum, where you can see archaeological finds from etruscan period, roman period and from the renaissance.
